Outdoor laser shows
DTL has had nearly 30 years of experience in organising open air laser shows and has a fitting concept for every occasion. Whether it is in opening or closing of a party week, the opening of a store, square or street, or the opening of buildings or businesses. A show can also be suitable to accompany the commencement of building works (‘driving the first pile’) or during public holidays, business events, or as support for live performing bands, orchestras or DJs. DTL has all the required technology and knowledge to turn your event into an unforgettable spectacle.
In outdoor shows, laser effects such as surfaces, beams and tunnels in a beam show, also known as special effect shows, are combined with laser animations to fitting music. The show can be expanded with, for example, video and picture projections, light effects, water walls, fountains, special effects and fireworks. Although our projection balls can also be a suitable addition. Please feel free to contact us to discuss the possibilities without any obligations.

Show progression example
An open-air show usually starts with a slowly rising beam show, in which surfaces, beams, tunnels and other 3D-effects are displayed. This is followed by a custom-made laser animation and/or themed show of choice. A custom-made laser animation can start, for example, with the emergence of a globe, after which Europe, The Netherlands, the province and then the place where the show is held are highlighted.
After that, some landmark buildings or objects from the local area can be included, such as the council hall, mills, bridges, churches or monuments. Of course, also logos and the like can be included in the show. The show then progresses into a 3D beam-and-effect show, supported by light effects and a concluding animation.
A suitable location and a good laser setup are always essential for a successful outdoor show. A show can usually be held in a square or field, or from the water. DTL has a laser truck from which laser shows can be performed, even during bad weather. The available space may not always allow for use of the truck however, in which case the lasers can be mounted on tripods or, if projecting from the water, on pontoons.
In outdoor shows, laser animations are usually projected onto special gauze screens, hung from a truss-construction in a crane. It is also possible to project lasers and videos onto one of our inflatable projection balls or onto water walls.
DTL has a variety of available projection screens.
Outdoor shows cannot commence until it starts to get dark. Any potentially interfering (edge) lighting should, as much as possible, be turned off during the show. Click here for an overview of possible starting times.

N.B. Minimal starting time lasershow outdoor = sunset time + 45 minuten !
Poor weather conditions, such as storms, can somewhat affect the show and may affect the use of projection screens and smoke. Dense fog can lessen the visibility of laser projection and effects. We have very little experience with shows being cancelled due to the weather, but it is something worth keeping in mind.
For optimal visibility of the laser beams and effects, smoke is required. For this, we will place special smoke machines with high-pressure fans.
All our shows are programmed to music. The right music plays an important role for the vibe, emotion and general show experience. We will supply a professional sound installation for the music.
Aside from the custom shows we design, DTL also offers various ready-made themed shows, which may be supplemented by custom animations. The themed shows that can be chosen from, include: Flight into History, Typically Dutch, Europe, Liberation*, Kings-day*. There are also themed shows for birthdays or weddings. These ready-made laser animations can be used as stand-alone, or combined with custom made animations and special effects shows. Click here for more information about our themed shows.
Laser shows can be expanded using fireworks and/or firework effects. This does require a suitable location, and (safety) regulations regarding the use of fireworks must always be observed.
